Buses play a vital role for Newham residents and workers, as over half of the borough’s residents do not have access to a car. Through the proposed measures, we want to see improved bus journey times and reliability for all bus routes, in order to make journeys by public transport more pleasant, and to encourage more people to use the bus instead of private vehicles.

As part of Newham Council’s commitment to creating the best possible travelling experience for residents across the borough, they are proposing a series of improvements to four key areas in the borough. These measures aim to improve the road layout and how the signals at these junctions currently work to provide better traffic flow and enhance cycle and pedestrian links to make it safer for all road users.

Proposals have been put forward for the following locations:
